How to Register a Car in Dubai/ Car Registration Renewal Dubai

How to Register a Car in Dubai/ Car Registration Renewal Dubai(sell your cars Dubai)

In line with Government legislation, the Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) have instructed for all vehicles to be tested on an annual basis as part of the registration process. This is to ensure the safety of drivers, passengers and pedestrians in Dubai by further reducing the possibility of having defective vehicles on the road.

The Registration/ renewals can only be carried out at the Dubai Traffic Department or Vehicle testing centres that are operated by authorized bodies (Tasjeel Epco, Emarat Shamil or Belhasa’s Wasel) (Sell car dubai)

Unlike the United Kingdom where you just need to do an annual test (MOT), Within the UAE a test has to be conducted every time you buy or sell your vehicle. We personally think this part of the process should be adopted on a world wide scale as it provides peace of mind to both parties.

The seller is confident knowing the car has been meticulously maintained and the Buyer is relaxed as a government body has inspected the vehicle and it has no hidden secrets(

The first step when it comes to registering your car in Dubai/ renewing your car in Dubai is the physical test of the vehicle. An experienced engineer will fully inspect your vehicle to ensure it’s in a roadworthy state. They will check things like the condition of the tyres, brakes or if any oil leaks are visible. The current cost for this is approx(used cars in dubai ).
AED 140

You will then be provided with a ‘Passing’ Certificate. This along with the existing registration card (Mulkiya) will need to be provided to an insurance company or broker to get the vehicle insured. (Please note if the vehicle has not previously been registered, you would need to provide ownership documents for the vehicle).

The final step of the process is for the passing certificate along with a paper copy of the Insurance to be submitted to the RTA/ Vehicle Testing Centre representatives. They will conduct a search on your Traffic file and make sure any outstanding fines have been cleared(buy cars in dubai ).

At this point the vehicle will be registered on your name and you will be issued with a new registration card with a one year validity. Your Insurance will however be valid for thirteen months. The cost for this is approx. AED 450.

For those people who lead a busy lifestyle, most privately run Vehicle Testing Centres have the option of a VIP service(we buy any car sales). You drive your car to a dedicated lane and then the inspectors handle the rest. The additional charge for this service is approx.

AED 150 but bearing in mind the RTA can get really busy, it’s definitely worth paying that little bit extra to make the process of renewal/ registration in Dubai of cars considerably faster.
